An Honest Review of News In Slow Spanish With Image of Spanish City

News In Slow Spanish Review – Definitely One Of My Favorites

News In Slow Spanish

Rating 4.8

Summary

News in Slow Spanish is easily one of my favorite language learning resources I’ve come across. They offer so much more than just current events narrated at a slower pace. It’s a comprehensive, engaging, fun, and effective way to study Spanish. It offers material in three different levels, for beginner, intermediate, and advanced learners, along with lessons using Spanish from either Spain or Latin America.

Quality 5.0

I’m super impressed with the quality of their lessons.

Thoroughness 5.0

Teaches grammar and expressions in a unique way that’s very thorough.

Value 4.5

The amount of value offered makes the price quite reasonable.

I Like
  • Pretty much everything – seriously.
  • The beginner course gets students listening to, reading, and understanding Spanish much faster than most other courses would.
  • The grammar and expressions lessons are fantastic, and there’s a huge catalog of these available.
  • The news stories are, of course, interesting.
I Don’t Like
  • The advanced level is useful but not as impressive as the rest of their content.
  • Their app is very basic so you may prefer using the mobile version on your phone.
Price

7-day free trial, then $22.90/month. You also have the option to prepay for any amount of months at a time, which doesn’t change the monthly price.

News in Slow Spanish is an online resource offering a wide range of material for Spanish language learners. It covers material in beginner, intermediate, and advanced levels, and it is much, much more than just a slo-mo Spanish-language news source.

Review of Du Chinese

Du Chinese Review: Learn With Interesting Content, And App’s User Interface Is Top-notch

Du Chinese

Rating 4.5

Summary

Du Chinese is one of the best resources for learning Chinese. This app will help you to improve your Chinese reading skills as well as listening comprehension. There are articles across six different levels – from Beginner to Master. The design of this app is absurdly good, making it exceptionally easy to use. The biggest weakness is that new content isn’t added frequently enough.

Quality 5.0

Amazingly high-quality with lots of useful features.

Thoroughness 4.0

New articles are added fairly slowly, but they age well.

Value 4.5

You can read some articles for free.

I Like
  • The design is superb, and it’s loaded with useful features. I love how it uses highlighted words to synchronize the audio playback to the text.
  • The articles cover interesting content and remain relevant for months after release.
  • Articles can be downloaded for offline use.
I Don’t Like
  • Content isn’t added frequently enough. For most levels, a new article is only added about once per week.
  • Content is added even less frequently for Advanced and Master levels.
Price

A subscription to Du Chinese costs $14.99/month. A six-month plan costs $89.99. A one-year subscription would cost $179.99/month. There is also a limited selection of lessons available for free.

The Du Chinese app is quite possibly the best-designed app out there for learning Chinese. I don’t know if it’s necessarily the best Chinese-learning app overall, but the developers really did an outstanding job.
