- “Salut ! J’espère que tu vas bien. Moi, ça va. Je me prépare à fêter la Nouvelle Année. Demain (le 31 décembre), je vais aller en ville pour fêter la Nouvelle Année avec mes amis. Je réfléchis aux résolutions que je peux prendre.
Il faut pouvoir se tenir à ses résolutions, alors c’est difficile. Je choisis trois résolutions pour cette année.
Je vais essayer d’arrêter de fumer. Je voudrais aussi commencer à faire du sport. Je pense à m’inscrire à un club de football. J’espère trouver un club dans ma ville. Généralement, j’oublie mes résolutions avant Février ! Ma troisième résolution, c’est de ne pas oublier mes deux premières résolutions !
Et toi, est-ce que tu prends des résolutions pour la Nouvelle Année ?”
- Your French pen pal Antoine has sent you a long message where he talks about his resolutions for the New Year. New Year might not be coming up but it would be rude not to respond! Write back to Antoine, describing at least three of your resolutions. Try to use dual verb constructions, using Antoine’s message as an example.

Partner Speaking Exercise:
- As you have greatly improved your French since the start of this course, you can now debate with your French-speaking partner. Find below the topic for the discussion. Make as many sentences as you can, using dual verb constructions (“on peut”, “il faut”, “on doit” etc.). Do not hesitate to use negative constructions (“il ne faut pas”, “on ne doit pas” etc.)
