Mes parents tenaient particulièrement à cette sculpture.

Using one of the platforms for finding a tutor or language exchange partner, practice the speaking activities below.

Partner Speaking Exercise:

  • Make them guess what! Based on the game from Lesson 34 “Make them guess who”. This time, choose an object. You are allowed three sentences to make your partner guess what the object is. The catch? You need to use a demonstrative pronoun (“ce” or “cela”) and include a relative pronoun in each sentence.
  • Once your turn is done, it’s your partner’s turn to make you guess what object they are thinking about, in three sentences, and still using relative pronouns.
    • Example: C’est ce qui te sert à te brosser les dents.

C’est ce que tu mets sur la brosse à dents.
Ça a souvent le goût de menthe.

Independent Speaking Exercise:

  • Try to make at least one sentence to describe each of the five objects below, using relative pronouns (if possible, “ce qui”, “ce que” or “ce dont”). Check an online dictionary if necessary.
    • Une voiture
    • Un couteau
    • Un lit
    • Un film
    • Des chaussures

Example: “un mug” => C’est ce dont je me sers pour boire du café.
