“-re” verbs and impersonal verbs

Using one of the platforms for finding a tutor or language exchange partner, practice the speaking activities below. 

Partner Speaking Exercise:

• For this exercise, you are going to be a “sentence generator”! 
  • Ask your partner to choose a verb amongst the verbs below, a subject, and to ask whether they want an affirmation, a negation, or a question. Now, you have to make the sentence for them!
    Be careful: some verbs cannot be used on their own, so you might need to come up with an object for the sentence.
    Ask your partner to request at least 5 sentences.
  • Verbs to choose from: vendre, attendre, dire, conduire, interdire

• Example:

Partner: “conduire, nous, negation”
You: Nous ne conduisons pas cette voiture.

Independent Speaking Exercise:

• Practice conjugating the five verbs below in the present tense, with all six subject pronouns.
  Verbs: rendre, entendre, lire, écrire, construire.
