Using one of the recommended resources to get writing feedback, respond to the prompt below.

  • Your pen pal Antoine sent you a message where he talks about his ideal holiday and asks about yours (“tes vacances de rêve” literally means “the holidays of your dreams”). Describe your perfect holiday using the indicative future.
  • Salut !

J’espère que tu vas bien. Moi, ça va super bien ! Je rêve de mes prochaines vacances. Je voudrais pouvoir aller en Inde. Je commencerai par aller à Agra. Je visiterai le Taj Mahal. J’irai ensuite à Mumbai et à New Delhi. Je mangerai des spécialités indiennes, et j’essaierai des costumes traditionnels. Il fera beau et chaud.

Et toi, quelles sont tes vacances de rêve ?

A bientôt,

Antoine

Using one of the platforms for finding a tutor or language exchange partner, practice the speaking activities below.

Partner Speaking Exercise:

Ask questions to your partner about the future (e.g: what will they do in five years, where will they live, will they travel, will they have a job…), then ask your partner to ask you similar questions, and answer them using the future tense.

Independent Speaking Exercise:

  • Imagine an ideal future routine and describe it, using the indicative future. If you’d rather not have a routine in the future, use your current routine and describe it using the future tense!

Example: Je jouerai aux jeux vidéos toute la nuit et dormirai toute la journée.
