Partner Speaking Exercise:
- While practicing with a partner, point to something in the room that is near you and ask ¿qué es esto? Your partner will tell you what it is and then point to something further away, asking you ¿qué es eso?Now you have to respond by using a demonstrative adjective to describe the article. After you correctly describe it, choose a new item and ask ¿qué es esto? And then your partner describes it.
Independent Speaking Exercise:
- Around your house, practice demonstratives by choosing different objects. Based on whether they are male or female, plural or singular, use the correct demonstrative given its location relative to you (here, there, or over there). For example, esta silla, estas sillas, esa, silla esas sillas, aquella silla, aquellas sillas.
