Using one of the platforms for finding a tutor or language exchange partner, practice the speaking activities below.

Partner Speaking Exercise:

• With a partner, practice the expressions TENER QUE, HAY QUE, and the verbs NECESITAR and DEBER by talking about obligations you must fulfill at work, school or at home. Remember to use regular -AR infinitive verbs to complete the expressions when necessary.

Independent Speaking Exercise:

• Imagine different scenarios, such as limpiar la casa (clean the house), planear un viaje (plan a trip), celebrar un cumpleaños (celebrate a birthday), or tener una reunión de trabajo (have a work meeting). Using the expressions TENER QUE, HAY QUE, and the verbs NECESITAR and DEBER, say aloud to yourself the different tasks that you would need to do to undertake any of these activities. Feel free to add additional activities as they relate to your life. Remember to use regular -AR infinitive verbs to complete the expressions when necessary.
