MeloLingua is a language learning platform that helps learners learn English, Spanish, French, German, Portuguese and Italian through short stories narrated by natives.

The idea behind MeloLingua is that you learn naturally through context. The content is organized into levelled courses (A1 – C2), each with stories that are easy to follow and engage with. Every story includes native audio, English translations, essential vocabulary, short exercises and grammar notes. So you read a story while listening to the audio and when you encounter a word you don’t know, you tap on it to see its meaning then test your comprehension with exercises. Seeing words and grammar used in context helps you remember them more naturally. If grammar is something you particularly struggle with, you can choose stories that focus on specific grammar topics.
MeloLingua also allows you to turn passive learning into active learning. As you read and listen to the stories, you can also practice speaking out loud. MeloLingua’s AI then gives you instant feedback on your pronunciation, helping you improve your speaking while also building your vocabulary, reading, and listening skills. What’s more, you can create your own personalized stories based on your own interests, life or experiences.

Although MeloLingua currently offers a small selection of languages and stories, more languages (Japanese, Korean, Arabic & Russian), stories and even books are in the works. Still, it is a good choice for learners who want to build vocabulary, and improve their reading, listening, and speaking skills naturally.
