Now that you are familiar with regular and irregular verbs, have a simple conversation with a partner using the preterit past tense. Talk about what you did yesterday or what you did on the weekend. Alternatively, talk about a recent trip or event (birthday party, anniversary, etc.) and describe what happened that day. Remember to use the appropriate time expressions when necessary.
Independent Speaking Exercise:
Independently, you can practice the verb conjugations for the irregular verbs listed in this lesson by describing what you did yesterday to yourself. Look at the list of verbs to try to use as many irregulars as possible. Then choose another person, a friend or family member, and describe what they did. Remember to use the appropriate time expressions when necessary.
